
Mine Detection Dog Center in Bosnia and Herzegovina have deployed its teams in Kosovo again this year. Since July 20, 2011, MDDC is active on demining operations in Vucitrn municipality, namely in villages Dubovac, Beçiç and Galica. The demining project is funded by the US Government through the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance. Area contaminated with landmines is mostly agricultural land and forest, and after the clearance population will be able to move freely, exploit the forest and cultivate land. Some parts of mine suspected area is 30 meters distance from the houses. The entire task is 71.000 m2. The completion of the project is expected in late August 2011.
