This project is designed for children age 9 to 13, members of the sports clubs and school sections, viewers at the sitting volleyball games that are being played all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also for mine victims. Through the project, children are taught how to protect themselves from becoming a mine victim, but also the adults-their teachers, cousins and friends. This project promotes sports, in this case a sitting volleyball, and behavior adjustment to increase mine awareness within the population of BH in communities affected with landmines. MDDC instructors conduct mine awareness presentations for children-members of the sport clubs, distribute mine awareness material, broadcast audio messages at the sitting volleyball games and presentations, and organize short radio and TV shows. Sitting volleyball club Fantomi are true athletes, people of good and strong spirit with huge international and national success in sport. This remarkable team consists of mine victims and they help to promote mine awareness among children, play exhibition games and motivate other mine victims to continue leading the productive and good life. MDDC have started with the mine risk education presentations and so far have held eight presentations in towns like Lukavac, Maglaj, Zavidovići, Kakanj and Sarajevo and achieved a huge success so far. Young athletes-children from the sports clubs emphasized how informative and useful the presentations were and they especially enjoyed the sitting volleyball games after the presentations. Donors of the project are US State Department through the ITF, Government of Federation of BiH, Bosnalijek and Marshall Legacy Institute.
