Training and testing of search and rescue dogs for ruins completed successfully

Mine Detection Dog Center signed the contract with Federal Administration of Civil Protection (FCP) on acquisition of two trained dogs for searching the ruins and two trained avalanche search dogs, as well as training of four dog handlers of those dogs. The first part of this contract is already successfully completed, with two trained dogs for searching the ruins trained and tested on Igman Mountain. The dogs that were tested in front of the commission formed by the FCP Director showed impressive skills level. Among others, the test consisted of dogs temper test, their reaction to specific circumstances - transporting in the helicopter, taking the shortcuts, noise etc; general obedience test, testing in searching the ruins and pretended search. The trained dogs were handed over to the beneficiary, while the training of avalanche search dogs is continued.
